Milestone: Walking and STTN!!

OK. I know it's time to update Cayden's progress already. Been procrastinating far too long. I'm currently back in Taiping for about a week already and somehow I realize my boy grows up really fast when he's back here.

Yes, he is finally able to sleep through the night (STTN) and walk before he hits 14 months!

Many commented he's considered slow at walking but it doesn't really bother me.

"Most babies take their first steps sometime between 9 and 12 months and are walking well by the time they're 14 or 15 months old. Don't worry if your child takes a little longer, though. Some perfectly normal children don't walk until they're 16 or 17 months old." (source: Babycenter.com)

Also, I've been carrying and rocking him to sleep since he was a newborn and by the time he reached 1yo, he suddenly decided that he should stop torturing his poor mummy. :) So yes, now I just lay beside him, give him a kiss and he'll settle himself to sleep. Sometimes when he's unable to sleep after quite a long period, I'll pat him for a while. He rarely put up a fuss anymore. I really hope he won't anymore, since he's already 12kg now... -_-"

He can understand us quite well now and his favorite words at the moment is 不要! (don't want!) Haha! Can hear him saying that all the time. He can also say "shu shuuu..." (shoes) and "cho cho" (coei coei - means pacifier)

Today I was mad at him because he wouldn't want to sit on his high chair for dinner. He kept standing up on his chair thus I put him down on the floor and no dinner for him. (Is it too early to start disciplining?) He cried and I walked out to the living room, leaving him crying on the floor in the dining room. He crawled out to me, tried so hard to climb up the sofa, sat on my tummy and gave a few kisses on my lips. LOL I couldn't stop laughing, and he laughed too. Gave him a good lecture before bringing him back to the dining table and yes, he finally sat still. I wonder if I'm doing it right.

I'm enjoying mommyhood more and more now. My boy is growing up too fast! 2 more days before he turns 14 months old..

2 loves:

So heart-warming the stories of Cayden... =) It is never too early to start disciplining the kids. You won't regret it. Kids learn very fast, and if you give them too much lee-way, they learn how to use it against us. I am sure, you will be an awesome super hot mother and Cayden is blessed. =)
